Splitting inspection lot

Hi Experts,

I have a requirement of splitting inspection lots. Example, My production order quantity is 120 Meters, I want to generate 10 inspection lots (12M each) and I want to generate 10 different batches for the same. Kindly suggest how this can be executed.

Dear,

You can do this with Quantity Distribution for Goods Receipts this is standard functionality For SAP Mill Products so by using the Splitting push button in the Confirmation transaction in the Goods Movements screen you can split the order in number of batches.

You cannot enter several goods receipt lines in Transaction CO11N this functionality is available IS mill product.

In R/3 you can do this in CO11N good movement over view by selecting the GR material Editsplitting. For may batches again you need to select these two GR line item and go to Edit --splitting.

If no auto GR is there then in MB31 you can split the batches as you want.

Else check with technical person for development if you don't want any manual effort through BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE

Dear Sridharan,

In QM if you have activated 01, 02, 03 or 04 Insp type at material master then lot creation is automatic. Creation of Inspection lot then depends of confirmation against Purchase order or production order. So in your example if you want 10 lots, then production to do 10 separate confirmation this will generate 10 lots with 10 batches (if batch is activated at confirmation level.)

In auto lot generation quality doesn't have control over splitting the lots, may be in manual lot generation you can generate lot any time.

Hi,

In inspection set up that you are using setting in CTRL Insop lot--by default it is always each document..

so better you keep it as it.

Do GRN seperatly for each qty split 12 M ,give batch no seperate each time so that every time new document will get generated & each time seperate lot will get generated.

In the material master, in the QM view, in the inspection setup for 04 inspection lots, make sure the field for "inspe. lot ctrl" is set to "each material, batch, storage loc".

Each time you do a GR from the production order for a different batch, you will get a different inspection lot. If you use the same batch number it will be added to an open inspection lot with the same batch if one exits. If a lot with the same batch number has already been UD'd the material will go directly to unrestricted.
