I hope you mean another schema to create objects for storing data. If so, then I don't think that is allowed. You may want to check with your SAP account manager on the specific details on your licencing. But it is now allowed to have "Non BW managed" persistence on SAP HANA Platform edition.

Although, you can reconfirm with SAP account manager, if you can create a DDIC table object in the BW schema.

Any specific reason why you want to create another schema. There could be alternatives within the current licensing agreements.

Hi Ravi , thanks for reply. You understood correctly , if i have sap bw 7.5 sp2 on sap HANA with platform edition , can i make custom schema in HANA at database level.

Is this license restriction or SAP recommendation to not create custom schema in HANA for other Non-BW application?

Do you have idea about , alternatives within the current licensing agreements. what are they

As far as I know most of the SAP BW on HANA customer come with a SAP HANA Runtime or Edge License as the mainly want to run the SAP BW on HANA and not any application on SAP HANA itself. These Runtime or Edge Licenses are cheaper and restrict the usage of SAP HANA as database and application server. So you are allowed to use reporting tools on SAP BW, but not on SAP HANA directly. You are allowed to use Smart Data Access in SAP HANA... etc. so mainly you are "not allowed" in terms of licensing.

If you have a SAP HANA Platform Edition I would say you are allowed to do everything included in the Platform Edition License. But to get sure I really recommend contacting your SAP account manager.

@Ravi concerning specific reasons. I would really like to develop some UI5 applications directly on SAP HANA or use more than seven predictive algorithms of SAP BW on HANA out of the ~ 130 algorithms which are generally available in SAP HANA. So I would love seeing more customer being on SAP BW on HANA Platform Edition instead of the small licensed edition.
