Hello All,

I want to know some scenerio like PI sheet; how we can trace run time data and integrate with ECC?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Pankaj,

SAP MII can be integrated with PI sheets for exchanging critical data related to manufacturing Units such as Pressure, Temperature, pH Value among others.

PI sheet is actually used to transfer production relevant data facts to R/3 system and receive data from R/3 system in a manually operated production environment by the Process Operator. However, the process operator needs to enter significant data manually on the PI sheet. For eg. Quantity of Material components consumed for a Phase.

We can use MII to automate the process and MII can read the data from Shop Floor Units through DCS/SCADA systems and can write in the same on the PI sheet on a single click of button. This can avoid the considerable efforts of the Process Operator and hence reduce chances of any incorrect data being transfered to SAP ECC system. Connection between SAP PI sheet and MI systems can be set up using HTTP Web Services request.

Exp - You can develop a PI sheet with push buttons and text boxes where in you can capture the values for Units like Reactor Temperature, Pressure, pH Value for Material produced, Quantity of components used, Quantity produced in the reactor amongst others in different leveled text boxes. You can then use a Read button on click of which you can send a HTTP request to MII for data from shop floor units. MII in turn can create a tag / HTTP web service request to Shop Floor system to retrieve real time data from DCS/Scada units and can respond back to PI sheet with the values. Later on, we can proceed with GI/GR for goods movement in R/3 system through PI sheets.

Hope that this answers your question. You can definitely try to complete the scenario on a MII environment.

Thanks,

Amit
