statistics service in standby status

Hi All,

I am facing a weird issue. I see an additional service the master node of a 3 node HANA scale-out database.

HANA version is 1.0 SPS 12 rev 20. we are not using MDC here.

HANA Studio --> Landscape --> Services

Name of the service is statisticsserver and undrer the detail column, it shows "standby" as shown in this image

Any clue what could be the reason and purpose of this?

I can force remove this and restart HANA but won't know why it was there in first place.

Let me know if anyone has seen this before and what is recommended way to get rid of this.
