Deleted the transformation and recreated and later i was able to create DTP with out an issue.

This can also be caused if your DTP passes thru two transformations... for example ADSO -> Infosource -> ADSO. In this scenario, both transformations need to be the same processing type: HANA or ABAP. If you have a mixture of the two, you'll get the same error message.

I had the same issue and found out that the DTP could not be created because it is over a mixed DataFlow.
Both Transformations need to be the same runtime type (ABAP or HANA) and the DTP will create successfully.

I have also faced the same issue in BW4HANA SP8, however it was resolved when I re-activate the corresponding transformation (even though it is showing as active).

there's one note 2688571 available which deals with this kind of issue. Unfortunately this note is not yet available in english. The changes are part of BW/4HANA SP11, so it's likely that they're not yet available in your system. Please implement the note and check whether it helps.
