NWBC 3.0 connection thru saprouter outside LAN

Former Member

hello guys,

someone of you tried to use NWBC 3.0 with the entry in saplogon with saprouter ?

I would like to logon to my NWBC outside LAN but the page does not come up . I have used the entry in saplogon that has public Ip of my saprouter .

The connection to my system works but the page of NWBC that uses this entry does not .

it seems like it's ignoring this entry

Any successfull case of using this scenario?

Regards

Do you get any warning or error in the saprouter.log when you try to connect via NWBC?

This link might be helpful as well: http://www.sap2048.com/nwbc-sap-router-configuration-for-sapgui-connections-862.htm

Kind regards,

Hello Mark,

this is the weird thing. In my saprouter.log I haven't any attempt of logon . While I do with sapgui clearly I find something.

hello, at the moment did not solve the problem yet the issue.

To use NWBC in WAN you need however a SAP WEBDISPATCHER mapped to your host where NWBC resides and use the table HTTPURLLOC to make a reverse proxy .

This scenario is not working for me because the webdispatcher redirect to the https link of nwbc of the iternal ITS and this does not allow the logon page to appear..

Just an update,

one possible solution is to "disable" https protocol deleting the parameter in the instance profile. So when web dispatcher tries to connect to nwbc it will perform a connection HTTP to HTTP .

The second choice is to apply note 1426409 with correction from snote and a new kernel patch.

Ths Matthias ,

I already know this note. It's valid only inside LAN . If you are outside you have to use

1) webdispatcher because the link of internal page (eg https://your_host_fqdn:https_door:/sap/bc/nwbc) is not visible outside

2) entry in sapgui that uses the saprouter string to let the internal pages of NWBC to connect to sap pages with SSO

ths the same

Hi Bruno,

Well security concept wise you need of course take an eye on this u2013 I can´t help you with that u2013 very setup specific. But just bring it down to the technical requirements it is that you need first of course an answering http port before you can make use of the saprouter string (I think it is described in the attached pdf of that note). No http response (e.g. for firewall reasons) -> no saprouter request u2013 since NWBC does fire first an http.

Hello Mathias,

did you ever use HTTPURLLOC for reverting the pages to the link of webdispatcher? I was tring to use it but really no success.... The Welcome page ( the nicest page of NWBC with the integration of Inbox .. etc etc ) still points to the FQDN of the WAS. someone of you tried to use it ?
