Client Copy with Kernel 700 Release 250 (Kernel Release 9.4.2010)

Hello,

i have just installed an ERP 6 with the newest Kernel 700 (250) from April, 9th 2010.

I was in Client 000, Transaction scc4 to create a new client (111).

Then I added the profile parameter "login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 0".

Then i restartet the whole SAP System. I also did an Oracle "shutdown immediate".

I am using Oracle 10.2.0.4.

My problem is, that I cannot login in the new created client 111 with sap*/pass.

I also tried 06072010 and my installation password.

But it always says "invalid username or password".

I tried the same with Kernelversion 184, there it works.

I already searched service.sap.com/notes, but found nothing.

And i dont want to downgrade the Kernel. We need to do a Clientcopy with the newest Kernel.

What has changed?

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Jan Reiser.

As per sap-note 1459897 it was a kernel bug in 250 and 251.

252 works now perfect.

Thanks all for your help.

Hi,

Normally any new client created will have user SAP* and password pass only. Probably the parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 0 might have not got effected properly. Check in instance profile what is the value it is showing for parameter. Did u save and activated the instance or default profile wherever you have put the parameter.

Chekc in TU02 what is the value it is showing for parameter. If it still shows 1 there, then its done properly. Change the value again and restart the instance once and try.

Hi Sharath,

I just checked TU02 and it says

"login/no_automatic_user_sapstar 14.04.2010 0"

which seems to be OK.

I also checked the Instance Profile on the Filesystem C:\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\profile\<SID>_DEVBMGS00-<HOSTNAME> ( - same result. Its Ok.

What else could be wrong?

By the way. Its a clean and fresh installation with some patches and the bi-addon 7.04 addon.

Regards,

Jan

hi Jan,

Just try restarting the operating system also...

Some time operating system restart works !...

I have faced similar issues in the past. When I rebooted the operating system, that parameter get effective.

May be this is is a bug on Kernel 250. You can go with Kernel 221 as it is tested and stable Kernel version.

Hi Subhash,

i just downgraded to Kernel 239 and now it work.

I have also created a SAP-Support-Ticket to check what SAP has to say about the Kernel 250 problem.

Will keep you informed here in the forum as soon as i get an answer from SAP

Thanks.
