Crystal Report Viewer

Crystal Report Viewer prompting parameters using Crystal Report Version XI.

Using current written Crystal Reports, we are attempting to have other departments access the reports and run them.

Some of these reports have parameter selection, for example date ranges, or specific departments.

Using the Crystal Report Viewer, is this do able?

We have not had any success getting the parameters to come up for the end-user to change.

    Hi,

Can you clarify where the Crystal Reports Viewer is? Is this being called from an application or from InfoView?

If from InfoView, then as long as you have the option to Suppress Prompt turned off, it should prompt you when you are viewing or scheduling.

If you are doing this from an application, there is a property in the Parameter object to suppress the prompting.

    Good luck,

    Brian

    • Or upgrade to Crystal Reports 2008 and Crystal Reports Server 2008.

Another option is to write your own WEB or Windows application using Our SDK's. Check the Sample page for more info and samples applications to get you going.

Check the Product info page for more info on hardware requirements and call our sales department for pricing.

      Thank you

We have a single user license for Crystal Reports version 11.

I have written dozens of reports, of which i run some of these daily for end-users.

Our goal is to have end-users run their own reports, of which some of these reports have run parameters such as date, customer numbers, etc.

Know what we have, would upgrading to 2008 accomplish this for us. Is this just an upgrade or must something additional be purchased for end-users to run reports?

Will Crystal Report Viewer accomplish this?

    What what be your recommendation?

    Thanks for the assistance.

    • Hi Lew,

Lots of variables, I suggest you contact our Sales department and discuss what your product requirements are and they can suggest which products would best suit your needs.

      Thanks again
