how to download report to xl format in background

Hi guru's,

Kindly do not lock this thread, my requirment is to download my o/p of the report into xls , but in background Process,

so i have searched the SCN wiki but could not find relevent info on this!!!!!!

once the Program is executed in the BG gui download wont work, so please suggest me.

LOL you already know that it's not possible and still hoping for a miracle? There is no direct method for this. There are a few blogs or WIKI's which have described to do this in other ways. I think they are easily searchable.

Hi try using the function "XXL_FULL_API"

and schedule the report as a job.

Create the file in tab-delimited format, save to the apps server, give the user a utility program or the proper transaction to copy the file from the apps server to their desktop, then show them how to open the file with windows explorer. What you're trying to do is nonsensical, since (as you have already noted), there is no presentation server for a background job, and therefore no place to download the file into.... Why continue on this path?

store it in application server and then call BDC of CG3* Tcode
