Period Indicator and Fiscal Year Variant in Material Master

Hi

The company code's fiscal year variant is K4.

In the material master, the period indicator maintained is M. There is a suggestion to change it to P with fiscal year variant as K4.

Can someone please let me know if the relevance of maintaining the same fiscal year variant in the material master as the company code?

Hi,

This data maintenance is for managing forecasting values and consumption values. It depends on the business requiremnet how to manage this data. In Standard, SAP suggests M i.e monthly. You can very well go for P with Fiscal year variant K4. This can be the business requirement that they want this values as per their finacial period.

This will impact when you do forcast based planning.
