Source System Deletion

Former Member

Hi All,

I want to delete an unused source system from our BW system. I have changed the RFC connection so that it now refer to unknown destination.

When I right click and choose Delete from the context menu, system will delete the objects that are linked to this source system. However, for each object, it keeps on asking for a transport request, thus, the process is really time and effort consuming.

Is there any way to disable this request pop up ?

Thanks.

Hello Handoko Cen,

For the similar activity we stumbled on this thread. Apart from keeping the Client Open for changes in SCC4 and SE06...The solution what we did was as below:

1) In RSA1 > Transport Connection,

2) Uncheck all source systems

3) In the Grouping Select "Save for System Copy"

4) Collection Mode - "Automatic"

5) Then select the required "source system" you want to delete from All Objects of Type and drag into the Collected objects frame.

6) System will collect all the source system relevant objects. Select the top node and right click and select transport all below.

7) Click change package and assign a package and a request.

😎 Once the request is captured... Then go and delete the source system.

This will delete the source system without prompting for a Transport Request.

Hi Nitesh,

Thanks for your reply.

However, in our system currently, I believe it has not been switched on yet, since the switch off standard menu is grey out (disabled).

Please advice again. Thanks.

Hi,

Go to RSA1 --> Transport connection --> go to the edit in the menu above --> transport --> click on switch off standard.

After this the system wont ask you for any request.

Thanks,

Nitesh.....

Hi Reddy,

No, I don't worry of creating a new TR. It's just that system will stop asking for which TR to use for every objects insisde the source system that we are going to delete.

This is very troublesome, as I need to click Ok hundred of times.

Thanks.

Hi,

Don't worry give Req ID create one new one an dthn continue and delete it. Once you delete Source System then you delete the request in SE09.

Thanks

Hi...

I have tried that but it was not working, since SCC4 config is only for customizing request and not workbench request.

Please advice again.

Thanks.

Try through SCC4 transaction. Select the first option " Changes without automatic recording".

Make sure you revert these settings once you are done.

Cheers !
