Hello All,

I have a requirement which is related to balance transfer line item wise.

Suppose I have 2 company codes like IT01 and IT02. Business dont want to do any transaction in IT01 anymore. So they want to transfer the the customer, vendor,GL balance from IT01 to IT02 line item wise. How to achieve this.

What is the best approach to transfer, is it line item wise or only balance transfer is more suitable.

Kindly let me know the process step by step.

Regards,

Joy

Hi joy.lodh

As eli.klovski guided, you need to be clear on what is the business requirement. Is it that legal entities will continue to exist separately and you want to transfer the line items. If that is the case, please configure OBYA and use FB05 to transfer the line items. You will have to create the master data in both the legal entities and transfer. If however, if it a scenario, that IT01 is getting merged with IT02, a better way would be to look at LT. Below link should help

https://help.sap.com/saphelp_lt200/helpdata/en/21/5a824605ee4bb785d0bd2689c893a6/content.htm?no_cach...

Please have a look at OSS notes: 1589619, 1396348 and 391858

LT is the optimum way in case of merger though it has cost impact added to it

if your customer is not looking at DSO in AR, you need not worry about it

Dear Joy lodh,

Go to Tcode F-32 enter company code (in your case - IT01) and fill the customer account. Select the line items which you want to transfer to IT02

Then after selecting the line items from the process open item, select edit option from the top then select more and give the vendor number and company code to IT02. To select the line items these vendor line items should be as open item.

After selecting the line items, click simulate to see the entries. Thanks

Hi,

This is what is called a merger between company codes. Search this platform and you would find plenty of material on the subject, including detailed insturctions. Be aware, though, that each scenario of merger is to itself and there is no some 'golden' approach which would work in all cases. Every business situation should be considered, analysed and tested separately.

Hi

For subledgers like Customer and Vendor, it is recommended to have open line items transferred. This is to take care of things like Payments, Tax calculations like WHT and VAT if applicable and also ensure proper ageing and DSO analysis. For GL, you can transfer balances.

Hi Sanil,

Thanks for your reply...For this OBYA settings is required. But OBYA we can create separate for vendor,GL and customers right?

But DSO what settings is required. I did not work on this earlier. So if you can tell me the steps of the process its better.

Regards,

Joy
