Former Member

Hi,

I am creating a webi based on Bex Query.

In Bex Query, I have 6 characteristics , 4 Key figures , all 6 char in Default values block too and 1 charcteristic (Plant) in Characterisic restriction block which is authorizing variable.

1) When i am creating a webi using above dimensions....i am able to run the report with plant as a optional prompt in the report when i supply any values to which the user is authorized. But when i do not supply any value it throws the error instead the report should show the data for all Plants.

A database error occured. The database error text is: Error in MDDataSetBW.GetCellData.

2) When i put all the available values in the promt for Plant, then also i receive an error

A database error occured. The database error text is: Error in MDDataSetBW.GetCellData. FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND. WIS(10901)

The below versions and patch level is being used:

SAP BusinessObjects Edge BI Standard Package XI 3.1

SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0 , BW Support Package 19

Please Help!!!

Regards,

Akhil

Hi,

I got the same error message recently while trying to run a webi (XI 3.1) report. However, I was able to get rid of it by increasing the 'Array Fetch Size' & the 'Array Bind Size' in the universe connection, to a very large number. I don't know if this is just a coincidence, but somehow, it worked.

Thanks,

Alok.

Hi All,

I also found the same error message, but there is no problem with the authorization.

I run the query in MDXTEST and it's work fine. In BexQuery also can show the data.

But when I try to run the query from QAAWS or Web Intelligence,

it's show the same error message:

A database error occured. The database error text is: Error in MDDataSetBW.GetCellData. FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND. (WIS 10901)

My SAP BO version XI 3.1 and SAP Netweaver BI 7.0.

Need help,

Thanks and regards,

Hi Henki,

as you are referring to a different scenario and this is still ongoing I would suggest you open a new entry and describe your problem.

Hi,

- you should move to at least FixPack 2.5 on the BusinessObjects XI 3.1 release.

- Does the query including the authorization work properly when you execute the BW query in transaction RSRT and using the BEX Analyzer ?

Hi Ingo,

When i login with user (say botest) for viewing the query in Bex Analyzer, it prompts "No Authorization"

Should i need to first check at the SAP BW end rather than searching for solution in webi end...

Pls help!!!

If it says "No Authorization" then for sure you need to check with Basis person to see if you have proper Authorization for this user.

Can you log on to SAP BI and use some Transactions too such RSA1?

Hi Bashir,

The user is not even able to login SAP BI environment but can not execute T code rsa1.

ok - so then you first of all need to get to a point where the user can execute the BW query without the usage of SAP BusinessObjects.

Akhil,

If user canot log on to SAP BI then how you log on to InfoView? Can you log on to InfoView using the same ID and SAP Authenticaion?

Do you use SAP authentication to log on to InfoView or you use Enterprise?

If user is not able to log on SAP to perform the task Ingo has suggested then I will suggest to talk to your Basis person to get authorization issue straighten up.

Hi Bashir,

As i am creating the universes from Bex query with SSO authentication with the user (say BOSAP) who has SAP_All rights and having administrative rights in BO end.Everything working fine at his end.

But for testing authorization of users at BO end, another user was created at SAP BW end with acess to say 2 plants.

The user botest is able to login infoview with sap authentication mode. i also imported the groups assisned to botest user thru authentication tab from cmc.

Botest should have data level security for these two plants and this should be from SAP Ecc side.

In WebI you will grant him access to this report / folder. (according to your requirement)

But Data level security should be managed either SAP level or at Universe level.

Hi Bashir,

Thanks for quick reply!!!

Exactly, at the universe level i am using SSO authentication mode....so that the data level security can be maintained at the SAP BW end...n i jus need to give access to the users to folders\objects...

But when i am testing the reports created by user who has all access by the botest id....i am facing the errors i mentioned in the post....

Can you please tell me how to view the MDX query at the Webi end....and what changes i need to enable at the BO end

Your help is very much appreciated....

hi Akhil,

you mentioned that when you run the report without any limits in regards to data level security you have the issue.

Whats the expected data volumne ?

I am getting this error while including the measure that is created in universe designer for ytd as:

A database error occured. The database error text is: Error in MDDataSetBW.GetCellData. Invalid MDX command with YTD( <member> ). (WIS 10901)

We only have a test data less than 5000 records.

Service pack 2 fix pack 2.7 on XIR 3.1

hi,

first of all I would suggest that you close some of the same entries as I at least have seen three entries from you describing the same problem.
