Pls how can i add more field to the standard Material Master

Thanks for your respond ,the new field to be created is base on the specification of the client material .The material is categorised base on colour,alloy type,guage,profile type and width ,i want to add this field to the Standard Material Master, Pls how can i go about this.

Hi Vincent,

The custom fields can be added to material master by creating Screens/ subscreens. You would need your ABAPer help for it. The configuration part of it is under SPRO-> Logistics General-> Material master. The TCode is OMT3.

But before deciding on that consider using Classification view of the material master for your requirement. You should be able to assign values for different characteristics (like colour, type, alloy, etc). This would be staright forward and easier.

When new fields are required for material master, we create another view i.e. ADDITIONAL DATA view and assign the new fields to that view, so that your user knows where the customized fields are located at. Contact your Abaper for creating new view and fields.

yes it is possible. Take ABAPer help to add a new field to the required screen.

What kind of feild u wanted to add in materrial master . Because already standard SAP has given many fields in each and every department wise view , like basic daata. ssales , accounting, costing , MRP , ..etc.

So apartt from these view if u wanted to add othere feilds , its possible take the help of technical consultant.
