Global Variables in PI 7.1 EHP1

Hi all,

We are upgrading the system from XI 3.0 to PI 7.1 EHP1 in our project. We have observed that after upgrade all the mappings which use global variable fail and they work once we redeclare the global variables .

Can anyone please tell us if they have faced the same type of error and what can be the reason for this?

Thanks

Jagruthi

    Hi,

In PI7.1 you can not declare Global variable like in PI7.0, but the same functionality is available in other way.

You just right click on target structure node and add variable, now it will insert one variable in target structure, this variable will acts as global variable. You map some thing(ex: UDF or constant) to global variable which you created in target structure and you can map this global variable to any target node. This is very simple compared to PI7.0.

Note:- Even though this variable will apppear in target structure, it will not include in target payload message.

    thanks & Regards,

    Madhu

      Hi Madhu,

Gloabl varibale has been already declared in mapping before upgrade. After upgrade, the glabal variable cab be seen Functions->Attributes and Methods.

But even though the global variable is present, the mapping is not working . After we delete it and define it again in the same path, the mapping works.

      Regards
