Open Service directly from an area

Hi All,

We have created an MSS worklist area and assigned it to the MSS overview area group page. Our requirement is that the MSS worklist be called directly from the MSS Worklist area.i.e. when i click on the MSS worklist area, it should open the MSS worklist service directly and not take me to the subarea and then the service.

Would appreciate your responses.

TIA!

Regards,

Diana

Hi,

You could set up the area page resource in the HPF so that it pointed directly to you MSS worklist. When you click on the area page link it would go directly to your application.

I have had issues in the past though if the area page resource link contains WDA applications.

Good luck,

Chris

Hi Chris,

I didn't get you. 'You could set up the area page resource in the HPF so that it pointed directly to you MSS worklist. '

An area page resource for the worklist has already been set up. Is there something i am missing here?

TIA!

Hi Diana,

You may have created an area page resource to point to the area page - but if I understand - you don't want an area page, you just want to link directly to the worklist.

So instead of having the resource (specified in the area in the HPF config) pointing to a portal page which is the area page, instead use a resource that points directly to the worklist. Then the click that would normally navigate you to the area page from the area group page, should instead navigate directly to your required application (in this case the worklist).

As I previously mentioned - I've had issues with this where WD ABAP application have been the target - I'm not sure why. I'm looking forward to see what will replace the HPF in the new non-Java ESS/MSS world of EhP5...

Hope this is bit better of an explaination...

Cheers,

Chris
