Hi Abhishek

I am totally agree with you that Dialog user and service user are totally different. What i am trying to ask is whether there is any impact if i am changing the j2ee_admin user to become service. since nobody will use this user to login in ABAP stack.

any body have experience or advise ?

Regards

Hello,

If noone is using those users for logging on to the J2EE engine (for administration i.e. ), then yes you can definitely change the user type. Changing the user names is completely different though and there are guides for PI on doing it.

ABAP part never uses j2ee_admin user as it doesn't have any ABAP roles, it is a pure Java user. Make the change from SU01 or SUIM in ABAP, and check the result in UME in Java if the change is reflected successfully.

Dialog user and Service users are totally different things.....Service users have pre-defined names like PIAFUSER...while dialog users can have any name (actually assigned to human users of the system).

You can even change the name of J2EE_ADMIN to any other name....but you cannot change the name of PIAFUSER to AFPIUSER (or any other).

So changing a Dialog user to a Service User wont be supported.

Abhishek.
