Basic question on Keyfigure

Hello All,

I am new to the APO DP area and I have couple of questions on Keyfigures:

1. What is the meaning of the 'Fixed ' in the context of keyfigure

2. What is Time based disaggregation of Keyfigure and why do we need it in addition to the disaggregation techniques like Pro-rata, Average etc?

Thanks in advance,

    Hi Guru Prasanna,

1.In Demand planning we plan at different planning levels ( like Product, location, Region, Customer group etc) . When we check the data at different planning levels, system appropriately aggregates or disaggregates the data.

When we fix the value of a key figure in interactive demand planning, then the value of that Key figure does not change, even if other values of the key figure at other planning levels are changed. The system saves information relevant for fixing at detail level.

SAP recommends that we select just one key figure and switch to the details view before fixing any values. Otherwise, we cannot see how a change to a key figure value at one planning level affects the other levels.

    2.Time Based Disaggregation

The time-based disaggregation type defines how planning data is disaggregated in time. The time buckets in which data is saved are given by the storage buckets profile.

As an example this is useful say when data is stored in weeks and planning is performed in months. In this type of disaggregation available options are Proportional distribution, Proportional distribution; in the case of initial disaggregation, according to another key figure, Equal distribution. No Disaggregation in time, Based on another KF,

The normal disaggregation which is called sometimes as structural disaggregation has options like Pro-rata, Based on a different key figure, Average of Key figures, No calculation and Pro-rata, if initial based on other Key figure.

Hope this gives you good insight.
