Paperless Quality Management Laboratory

Hi,

I am Quality Data Analyst at my manufacturing company and have been tasked with finding out how we can transform our results worksheet-heavy, cumbersome Quality Inspection process into a PAPERLESS system. At present we use SAP across the supply chain, but would like to find a way to remove the need for printing worksheets from SAP in the Quality testing labs, and as part of this also remove the requirement to transcribe data from other systems such as Chromeleon which we currently don't have set up to interface with SAP.

Has anyone else done this? Where might one start with this project?

Hi Sarah,

To start with, You can grab all types of Papers that your Quality Lab generate and analyse each paper and its Data to make a judgement if the same Information is available in your current SAP design.

Then find out, Do you generate those reports in SAP? If Not, Can you generate those reports in SAP?

If you find 10 different reports that are generated manually and then Printed on paper, You have to find a SAP solution to capture the required data and Generate such reports.

You should go for Paperless only if You have an alternate way of (Digital Means) displaying and Sharing Information without compromising on the Traceabilities and other document requirements that your "Paper" solution was offering.
