Stock transfer between storage location with in same plant

Hi All,

what are the configuration steps for STO between storage location to storage location with in same plant.

we have one plant where abt 20 storage locations are spread over the country (USA) .

wht are different movement type

We are using ecc6.0,

Hi Venu,

find steps for config for activating Sloc to Sloc transfer within plant using STO

follow path: SPRO--> Materials Management -->Purchasing -->Purchase Order -->Set up Stock Transport Order -->Set Up Stock Transfer Between Storage Locations

1. Activate Stock Transfer Between Storage Locations

2. Assign Delivery Type and Checking Rule According to Storage Location

purchase document category 'F' , here use PO type UB, supplying plant, issue sloc and delivery type , (prefer to create new delivery type by copying delivery type 'NL' replenish delivery

3. Define Shipping Data for Stock Transfers Between Storage Locations

for plant defind sales org and distribution chenal and devision

select the pline and go to sloc

assign there customer (created for sloc)

4. Define Rule for Determination of Shipping Point

for newly created delivery type set L storage location specific shiping poing determination

5. Assign Shipping Points According to Storage Location, assign her sloc based shiping poing determination

at last when you will create PO put issue storage location, system will determine shiping data based on config done.

after this process will be same as STO plant to plant using shiping.

but while creating PO where i need to enter issuing s.loc

i hope while creating po in my case supplying plant and receiving plant is same

Hi,

You will need to mention the issuing storage location during posting the delivery,

ie, ME21N - Create STO

VL10B - Create Delivery

VL02N - Post Goods issue - here you will need to mention the issuing storage location

Hi Venu,

the step i suggested , was for sloc to sloc transfer in same plant only, you can enter issue storage location at PO line item data line itself. you need to scoll it to the extrem right. you will get issue storage location there.

Hi Venu,

agter STO creation, process is similiar to the normal STO plant to plant.

you need to create delivery VL04, and GI at issue

and then GR against delivery at recieving.

if i select L, i am getting error msg while creating STO," Not Possible to determine Shipping data for Material xxxxx"

if i select plant specific i am able to create STO.

i am using std delivery type NL, plzz suggest me if i am missing any config.

Hi

i have created delivery with vl04 ,now i am trying to do PGI in vl02n

i am getting below error msgs

under apllication area VL

1) Delivery has not been put way/picked (completely for material xxxxx del.qty 20

2) delivery has not been completely processd by WM

please suggest me how to proceed

Hi,

I think that the error messages are very clear. Your issuing storage location is WM-managed, you need to create a pick TO and confirm it. Afterwards you'll be able to do the PGI. If you don't know what to do, ask you WM colleagues.

I personally would use VL10B for delivery creation but I guess it's a personal preference. Apart from the fact that you do the STO within a plant, it works the same way like an intracompany STO between plant. Same movement types, too, i.e. 641 for GI and 101 for GR in case of a 2-step transfer.

Hi

It is possible to do STO, you first need to configure sto in SPRO, the same place you configure for plant there is a node define stock transport for storage location. in this assign the delivery type (NL) to doc type UB and the shipping plant. Create a STO with both shipping plant and receiving plat as same, in item level along with plant enter the receiving location. do a GI mtype 541 in mb1a, and then do a gr for this PO using 101.

Also in condition you can add the delivery cost.

Hi Venu,

Since the storage locations are spread over a distance, i would suggest you to use 2 step rather than 1 step transfer.

you can do this using mtype 313 and 315.

how sto is possible with is the plant? sto is two types. one is stock transfer between plnat to plant of the same company code and second is stock transfer is between two plants of different company codes.

you can find sto settngs at SPRO: MM > Purchasing > purcahse order > set up stock transfer order

There is one step stock tranfer between storage location to storasge location.

movement type 311. T code:MB1B

it is possible to do STO between 2 storage location in a plant from ECC 5 onwards. Update latest functionalities with ECC 6.0 ,before asking question.

Hi Venu,

For transfering stock from one storage location to another with in the same plant, there is no extra configuration ned to be done. You just carry out a stock transfer with t-code MB1B and movement type 311. This is a standard process and needs no configuration (except maintaining the storage locations to plant).

The node you are talking is for stock transport order (deals with stock transfer from one plant to another, may intra-company or inter-company) and if you want use the functionality of mentioning the issuing storage location in the PO.
