WCM Status of order

Dear All

I have created order. I have created Work approval & assigned order to it & also Work clerance documents to Work clerance Approvals. Still order is not having WCM system status. Can you tell me what are the detailed steps to get the order WCM status? What are the process steps to be followed from order creation to having order WCM status?

Hi,

An order is used for planning work as well as for planning and tracking the ensuing costs. In order to ensure that safety measures are performed for work, you must activate Work Clearance Management for maintenance orders. These orders are referred to as WCM-relevant orders.

There are two ways to activate Work Clearance Management:

- Through permits that you assign to the order and have configured in Customizing such that WCM is activated

- Through operations in orders with the control key WCM

As approvals can also be automatically assigned to a order using technical objects, WCM can also be activated automatically:

You have assigned an approval to a technical object. The approval is set up in Customizing such that it activates Work Clearance Management. In addition, you have defined that this approval in the technical object is copied to the order as default value.

If you create an order for this technical object, the approval of the technical object is automatically copied as the default value, thereby automatically activating Work Clearance Management in the order.

If you have activated Work Clearance Management, the pushbutton WC-Application appears in the application toolbar of the standard model or the pushbutton Work Approval appears in the enhanced model .

As well as the system statuses, which apply to all orders, the following system statuses can occur through the WCM for the order:

- WCM (Work clearance management) := WCM is activated for the order, that is, the order is WCM-relevant.The system automatically sets the status BLTC.

- VAL (Valuated) All applications are valuated.

- EXEC (Released for execution) := You have issued the "Release for execution" for the WCM-relevant order, that is, the work can - start.

- WOCO (Work completed) := The work for the WCM-relevant order is completed.

- BLTC (Block technical completion) := The technical completion of the WCM-relevant order is not possible.

So i think assignment of permits to order is most important for changing the order status to WCM.

To make the orders relevant for WCM. you have to change the operation activity type to 'WCM', or attach permits to order from Menu.

It is general information. I need detailed information. I know it can be dome by twoo ways.

1. Through approvals that you assign to the maintenance order and have configured in Customizing such that Work Clearance Management is activated

2. Through operations in maintenance orders with the control key WCM

See i am following the first method.

1. I have created the approval & assigned order to it. Checked order status. it was not changed to WCM.

2. Then I have created Work clerance application against Work clerance approvals. Checked order status. it was not changed to WCM.

3. Then i have created Operational WCD against the Work clerance application. Assigned the technical objects to operational WCD. Checked order status. it was not changed to WCM.

Then what is remained ?

Hi,

In WCM approval there is a config setting for >>> Activate Work Clearance Management for Maintenance Orders.

Check your setting over there.

I have followed following steps to resolve the issue. As i am using the same IDES to execute the processes setting was already available there.

1. I have first assigned the WCM permits to Equipment & also checked the checkbox "proposal" to copy automatically the permits in order.

2. I have created the order on the equipment. The permits get copied to the order & order has received "WCM" system status & Valuation button is activated on order menu.

3. When i valuated the permits the "work approval" button is added on screen near the valuation button showing that no work approval is assigned to order.

4. Then i have created work approval by clicking the work approval button, then Work clearing application created & related operational WCD's are created. So i think assignment of permits to order is most important for changing the order status to WCM.

I hope this is right method for doing this.
