How to create a Popup "navigate away from this page?"

Hi,

In our portal we have several data-entry pages with a connection to planable InfoCubes in BW. Also we have some reporting pages. All these pages are iViews and in menu's.Now, our customer organisation want us to look into the possibilities of creating a popup "Leaving this page will cause loss of data. Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?", since it can happen that someone accidentely clicks on a menu-item. And this message may only popup in data-entry pages and only when the data is not yet saved.

Is this even possible? There seems to be no way to do this in iViews in Content Management, dynamic navigation is not for this purpose. I see ony possiblilities in altering jsp pages. But isn't this is a huge investement in time for such a simple popup? Does anyone know of a solution to do this, other than jsp and a lot of time?

Thanks in advance

    Hi,

    I dont know how application is developed. Check to see whether workprotect mode will help you.

    Go to system admin -> system config ->service config->Applicaitons ->com.sap.portal.epcf.loader

    Change workprotect.mode.default to 2

    Restart the config by right clicking on com.sap.portal.epcf.loader . Click Administrate ->restart

      This was very helpful. It shows that it can be done, using Web Dynpro statements, by making the page "dirty" when it contains unsaved data. The page itself doesn't get dirty automatically, so I'll have to use Web Dynpro. But unfortunately I'm not familiair with Web Dynpro. So I'll have to find a way to let Web Application Designer call a statement to webdynpro, where I can make the page dirty.

      Why are there numbers in the workprotect.mode.default in stead of text? Is the following correct?

      0 = NONE

      1 = APPLICATION_ONLY

      2 = STANDARD

      Other numbers don't apply.

      thanks in advance.
