How do I report a bug?


I'm using CR XI Release 2 SP 6.

I've got a problem with the PDF export facility running out of memory.

The report will generate fine. I can save the export the report to a RPT, HTML, even RTF (a 6GB file was produced).

But with PDF, I get an out of memory error.

Using SP5, the export completes but is missing the content from page 300ish onwards.

I previously asked this question : Hitting some limitations on exporting a CR XI R2 report to a PDF. but have had no replies.

    Hi Richard,

    You may want to ask yourself why are you using Crystal Reports as a database archiving tool? Is exporting that much info into one file of any value to anyone?

    I suggest you start adding filters on dates etc. and bring down the size of the files to make them useful.

    It may not be a bug but a product limitation. If you are serious though you can purchase a case on line and then have a support engineer duplicate the issue and if R&D deems it to be truly a bug and not just a limitation you will get a credit for your case.

    It may also be a PDF limitation or a PC Resource issue. Close all running applications and see how far you get.

      Thank you for that information.

      It seems to be my machine. I passed it onto a user to test and it seems to be just fine.

      Trying to track down what is broken will probably take me a while ...
