Business Objects XI3.1 - some questions regarding installation on AIX6.1

Hi All,

Please advise on some issues regarding Business Objects XI3.1

We installed XI3.1 SP2 and the SAP Integration Kit on AIX6.1 platform

Pls advise on the ff:

1) Is Business Objects XI3.1 supported on AIX 6.1 platform ?

2) How do I check if SAP Integration Kit is on SP2 ?

3) We cannot find the following function module : /CRYSTAL/GET_VAR_TECH_NAME/ in the SAP BI system after we imported the transports.

I came across this link where the guy advised that he installed in AIX 6.1 platform.

Dear All Experts,

I am facing below mentioned error while installing BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP3 on AIX. i have installed SP2 successfully and it works fine. But while installing SP3 its not validating CMS name and port.

Please provide me some document on that or guide me.

I'm also planning to Install install Support Pack 3 for SAP BOE XI3.1 on AIX, Kindly let me know the steps for installation.

Hi,

AIX 6.1 is official supported with XI 3.1 SP2. Check:

Needed are the following min. Patchlevel:

Required minimum operating system install for AIX 6.1 plus:

 Technology Level 2 SP1

 IBM C++ Runtime Environnent Components for AIX => xlC.aix61.rte:10.1.0.0

If you run the "AddRemovePrograms.sh" script you will see your installed BO Software. Also there should be the SP2 for the SAP ITK listed. If not it is not installed.

I'm faced to the same problem.

Business Objects XI R3.1 SP2 is been supported to AIX 6.1 but Integration Kit for SAP XI R3.1 SP2 not.

After starting the install.sh script for the XI 3.1 Integration for SAP Solutions product, the installation halts with the following message:

This Business Objects distribution only supports AIX 5.2 and 5.3 . (Error: STU 00005)

Environment

o BUSINESSOBJECTS ENTERPRISE (BOE) XI 3.1 SERVICE PACK 2 (special SP2 build for AIX 6.1)

o XI 3.1 INTEGRATION FOR SAP SOLUTIONS

o AIX 6.1

Reproducing the Issue

1. Install BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP2-integrated package on AIX 6.1 server

2. Run install.sh from XI 3.1 Integration for SAP Solutions package

Cause

o RFC libraries included in RTM and SP2 releases of the XI 3.1 Integration for SAP Solutions product are not supported on AIX 6.1

o Because of this, the XI 3.1 Integration for SAP Solutions product is not officially supported on AIX 6.1

Resolution

o Apply Service Pack 3 full-build of the XI 3.1 Integration for SAP Solutions package - to be released in Q2 2010.
