Hi,
OK, we have a problem with one of our roll out's. Basically on the shop floor, we have terminals for the workers to key in live production data.
However, the terminals only have digits, not letters. I know once I create an account for them, they will not be able to log on as SAP PE1 system requires password logic i.e. special characters and letters.
So, I have 2 questions:
1. Can we modify the password settings, for a specific user/group/type? To allow for the above?
2. Can we create a generic user, as we have nearly 30 users, who only use 1 transaction, and are very likely to forget their passwords. I think SAP has some licence issues with generic users?
Thanks for your help!!
Cheers
Hi, OK, thanks for your clarification regarding the first point.
So, can you think of any other alternative, other than replacing the units for ones with character keyboards?
Regarding the second point, I was referring to how SAP would view it if I created one user account say PRODUCTION_USER, then all the 30 users can use this one account. I'm not sure if SAP allow this under licencing reasons.

Hi,
As per my knowledge and experience with clients. yes it does. SAP usually doesn't allow multiple logins. SAP records all this data when you submit the license data to SAP.
If you want to follow the approach, pelase check the contract made with SAP or else you can directly call or mail them.

HI,

As of now, this is not possible. I know that SAP is working on this, may be we will get this feature soon.

I am not that clear what you expect here. Creating a user who has only athorization to execute one transaction is possible. I done have any idea about the licence with generic users.
