No item category available (Table T184 OR 0001 ) Message no. V1320

Hello,

I created some new materials and I want to sell these materials. When I want to create Inquiry or even a sales order for the new materials an error occurs and it says No item category available ( Table T184 OR 0001). I researched for solutions, one of the solutions is to assign the item category using this path (Sales and Distribution -> Sales -> Sales Documents -> Sales Document Item -> Assign Item categories) . However, I do not have this path in my account. Also, I tried to use some transaction codes like VOV4, it says I need authorization to proceed. Is there any other solution that does not require authorization.

Note: I tried to change the item category for the materials in sales group 2 and it is still not working.

Is this a part of testing in own IDES or are you doing this in real time company's server?

If you are trying to do this in company's real time server, better to contact with an SD Consultant rather than trying to change the configuration or item category group.

Or if it is just part of self learning, you may have authorization of VOV4 in display mode or SE16N from there you can find Item category group and the proposed item category for sales document type OR. Enter that item category group in material master > Create a fresh sales order. System will determine item category. However, this is not a good way of doing this without having proper understanding of Sales document type, Item category group & Item category.

Please read about the functionalities of these in order to have better hold on it.

Without proper authorization to configure, it is not possible to address this issue.
