Separate Authorisation groups for different BOM alternatives

Hi guys,

My client wants to restrict the authorization to view/edit BOMs at Alternative Level. Can this be met with different authorization groups for different alternatives?

I tried putting auth group 01 for Alt 1, and then found that it got copied into Alt 2 also. as a result, I am not able to put two different auth groups for different alternatives.

Appreciate your useful replies as always:)

Hi,

If the plants are different, You can try to restrict this by restricting authorization group plant wise in BOM.

Hi Amit,

Many thanks for your response. I have gone through those threads. However, my requirement is bit different. I have to control the authorizations at alternative level. The header material is a universal code used by all plants. However, its alternative BOMs are used by only specific plants. Therefore, I don't want one plant to edit alternative of other plant. Hope it is clear.

Appreciate further responses from other members also.
