Mixed materials in Bulk storage in SAP WM

Hi everyone,

I have set up a bulk storage in which materials are mixed in one bin.

When I perform the goods receipt for 2 materials however, the system searches for an empty bin for the 2nd material even when there is still capacity in the 1st bin. The system allows me to overwrite it with the bin of the 1st material but my point is, SAP should use the first storage bin when capacity is not full.

I don't know if this is the standard system behaviour or I have made some wrong customization.

Hi

I assume that you haven't "Defined your strategy for bulk storage" ?

Please see text below regarding the strategy for bulk storage ....

Define Strategy for Bulk Storage

Materials that are usually available in large quantities and therefore require a lot of storage space are often stored in bulk storage areas. In bulk storage, each row of the bulk storage area represents a single storage bin. In this type of storage bin, a quant is stored. The system can deduce how many storage units (for example, pallets) are in each bin from the ratio for quantity per storage unit type defined in the material master. For this reason, it is only possible to manage, at most, one partial pallet quantity in addition to the full storage units.

To ensure smooth processing, bulk storage areas do not allow:
