Fertilizer or Utility Company which captures multiple Unit of Measurements in BoM

Hi,

I wanted to ask is there any fertilizer or utility or chemical company which incorporates multiple units of measurement in its production planning.

For example:

If we produce fertilizer through PP - which has natural gas as its input raw material, then we have to measure the volume (denoted by MMSCF) and the energy content on which the rate is applied (MMSCF into its Heating Value = MMBTUs).

Thus we need to capture both MMSCF and MMBTUs in the BoM. Is there any solution or example for this?

If we are talking about changing the volume of gas required dependent on the heating value of the gas then the gas material should be a batch material with energy content value as part of the batch characteristics. The gas would have a UOM for volume

Then we can use the material quantity calculation in PPPI to adjust the quantity of material required to produce the product

Eg if 200 BTU needed for manufacturing therefore 200 liters of gas needed if the energy content value 1 BTU / Liter, but 50 if the content value is 2 BTU / Lite
