Hi All,
I will be creating a new company code in SAP and by copying an existing one and would like to know what is the best way for doing this and what can I copy.
I have been advised to use the transaction ECOP can somebody advise on the use of this transaction code?
My main concern is how to copy the account determination for MM and SD.
Many thanks for your help.
Kind regards
Cecile
Hi,
There is no best practice for this. You can either use a standard transaction (EC01) and make the copy, where almost all settings, but not everything, will be transferred to the new company code, or you can make it from the scratch, by copying each customization entry apart. Normally, if there is high similarity between the company codes, it is better to have a copy and make the adjustments after.

Eli

Hi,
You are free to copy a company code either by using the IMG path or you can use Transcation code directly, it doesn't matter which whay you are choosing to reach the desired transaction screen. The important point that you have to note during copying a company code is the basic requrements like. Country specification, currency , fiscal year . It is recomended to copy a country template company code if it is a new implimentation else you can use the existing workiing company code in that specific region.Account detaermination will be copied during chart of account copying.
