Profit center in Asset posting

Dear SAP gurus,

I have assigned default profit center for asset GL codes in 3KEH.However, the system is not picking the profit center while posting.

Can you please suggest what is the reason behind.

Hi

The default profit center will be pickedup only if no other profit center are derived/entered. Hence you may not able to see it while posting and it might appear in the document after the document is posted.

Can you please confirm that you have posted the document and still no profit center exists in the relevant line item.

Your message is confusion for me. You are saying that the PC is blank in the document, but also saying PCA document got generated.

Also please clarify what kind of posting you are doing.

Dear Kash,

I meant that as no Profit center is getting picked from 3KEH, hence no PCa document is generated.

Only If I am entering PC in the document, I am able to get additional PCA document.

But here requirement is that, PC should be derived automatically. So I assigned default PC in 3keh. But no Profit center is getting derived on posting. There is no PC document created.

Thank you for the clarifications.

If the GL account is a normal BS sheet in one co. code and Recon a/c in another co. code, then please refer to SAP Note 500549 - 1KEK: Accounts from 3KEH are not transferred

Also refer to Note 903191 - Profit center is initial for postings with assets.

Also please ensure that the profit center is used in 3KEH is valid and not blocked for postings.

Dear Kash,

I am making the following normal JV for 1 company code

Dr Bank A/c and Cr Vendor a/c.

In 3KEH, I have assigned default PC for Bank A/c.

I post the document. But no PC is getting dervied. I want that default PC entered in 3KEH, should be captured.

Can you suggest why system is not picking default Profit center.

Hi

Normally system should pick-up the profit center, but since it has not picked up, it is very difficult to analyse the problem.

There could be several possible reasons :

1.The profit center not valid for the co. code or blocked.

2. Some other user exits or substitution is overriding this setting.

3. 3KEI derivation rule could be contradicting with settings in 3KEH.

4. If none of these works, you may have to search for a suitable OSS note.

Hi,

If you are in ECC 6 then kindly use FAGL3KEH to configure in place 3KEH.

I faced the same problem and after maintaining the config in FAGL3KEH its rectified.
