Restrict the number of users to not open more HTTP/HTTPS sesions to the system

Dear SAP Community,

Since a few weeks, the workload in our production portal system (SAP PD1 portal) have been increased a lot because we went live with some new applications in the portal (we activated SAP FIORI functionality in PD1 system).

Because of this, sometimes we are experiencing very bad performances in both portal PD1 and backend systems connected to portal ( ABAP -EQ5 and PQ5) as the workload in the systems is high.

Now we are trying to do the following:

  1. Limit the number of tabs an user can open in the portal in order to restrict some users opening more tabs than normal and generate extra workload in the system
  2. Restrict the number of HTTP/HTTPS sessions in the backend systems comming from portal system per user

We searched in SAP documentation and didn't find any specific parameters to be able to restrict the number of sessions opened for both mentioned topics.

We were looking also to parameter rdisp/tm_max_no for the backend, but this is not an option for us as will restrict everything.

Our landscape is connected as follow: Users-->WEB-->PD1-->WE5-->PQ5/EQ5 where WEB is SAP WEB Dispatcher. So in our case users are connecting trough SAP Web Dispatcher (WEB) to portal (PD1) and portal is connecting to backend systems (PQ5/EQ5) through SAP Web Dispatcher WE5

Could you please help us to fix this issue?

Thank you in advance
