Error setting up Introscope agent

I am running into difficulty setting up the Introscope agent with two of the four portal systems in our landscape and hoping someone out there has seen this before and can provide some advice. I'm get the following error message:

Failed to update VM parameters - java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: Instrumentation JAR File is missing at: /usr/sap/<agent SID>/<agent instance>/SMDAgent/lib/instrumentation.jar

I selected the autoprobe directives sap_ep,jar, sap_ep_iviews_rolename.jar, and sap_ws_nw70.jar.

We just updated our SolMan system to EhP1 back in January and are using the most recent agent files. I've looked at OS-level permissions and have made sure they're all the same across all four systems. Not sure why I can't set up the agent with our dev and prod portals but was able to set it up with no problems on sandbox and QA. Only difference I know of is that we also have SolMan systems with Wily Introscope running on the same partition as the two systems where agent setup is failing.

There might be a inconsistency with the instrumentation jar files that

you set in the profile, please check if the path is OK.

Hello Guilherme,

This ended up being an IFS permissions issue: the virtual machine properties couldn't be updated to complete the installation. I did a thorough comparision of IFS permissions with our test system (where the agent was successfully installed), made some adjustments, and the installation was successful.

Hi,

I have tried to deploy Instrumentation Version: ISAGENT.8.2.2.0-2010-07-13 on PI 7.1 via Solution Manager 7.1 EhP1 (SP22) through Introscope Agent steps. But i have got the Error "Failed to update VM parameters - java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: Instrumentation JAR File is missing at: /usr/sap/SMD/J98/SMDAgent/lib/instrumentation.jar".

Here the operating system is AS400 (IBM iSeries). I have checked the permission and all are ok.

If any one have solution, request you to provide me asap.
