Dear All,
we are doing OS migration from on-premises to AWS cloud current OS is Solaris with oracle 11.2.0.3 and we plan to migrate it to OS (oracle Linux 6.4) with oracle 11.2.0.4 or 12c.
We will use SWPM export / import tradition migration technique.
1) so can we do like export it and import it with direct 11.2.0.4 or 12c version ?
OR
2) we must have to update version on-premise from 11.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.4 or 12c?
i saw one option in SWPM, during import we can choose oracle version option to use.
Hi,
If you do a Migration (OS, DB or both), the data is exported in "non OS/DB specific" format, for that reason it does not matter if your source is 11.2.0.3 and target 12.1.0.2
Nothe that the support on AWS is restricted to the indications of Note
2358420 - Oracle Database Support for Amazon Web Services EC2
You also have to keep in mind that, to perform a Migration of a productive system you MUST have a certified migration consultant (which should be able to answer this questions, otherwise he might not be certified)

Hi Nagesh,
Yes you can achieve both the things (Upgrade and migration) in one go.
