I use SAP Crystal Reports 2013 Support Pack 1 as it comes. I do not use any .net application. I connect to the tables from more than 1 database right in the software. One of the databases requires a different username and password than what we currently log on to our server as. (Note: I am in finance not IT). We do not want people running the report to be entering the 2nd user name and password when the refresh the report and change a few parameters. How do I do this within Crystal Reports? I have tried it in the ODCB driver but it does not keep the password. I have also tried a string in the ODCB connection but that did not work either.
Hi Charlene,
How do the users run these reports? Do they run using Crystal Reports Designer or the Crystal Reports Server?
P.S: CR designer does not save database passwords. A workaround is to connect to the database using "integrated security" which uses your Windows AD credentials to log on to the database, however, for this to work, all AD users need to be configured in the database as well.
