Dear,
You seperate GL account numbers as per registration number....
All VAT and Excise GL Accounts should be seperated based on states......
Excise will require following accounts..
BED Payable...AED Payable...SED Payable...Ecess Payable...SE Cess Payable...PLA on Hold...PLA BED...PLA AED...PLA SED.....PLA Ecess.....PLA SE Cess.....CENVAT Clearing.....CENVAT Suspense.....CENVAT Offset.....BED Recoverable.....
AED Recoverable.....SED Recoverable.....Ecess Recoverable.....SE Cess Recoverable.....
Above you should confirm with process owners that AED or/and SED is Applicable or not...if they are not then GL accounts are not required...
VAT GL Accounts.
VAT Payable (state)
VAT Recoverable (state)
CST Payable (state)
Multiply above accounts with the number of states you have...

Hi,
Business place is used for withhodling tax reporting as per TAN no. & not for excise.
It is not mandatory to keep separate G/L accounts for excise. The same can be seen as per excise groups.
But it is advisable to keep separate G/L accounts which helps in balance reconciliaions as per excise G/L account balance and excise register balances as per excise groups.

Hi
there is no need to create different G/L acounts for plant level.for reporting purpose you can extract report on excise group basis
Thanks
