Hello Ashish,

If in the Edit Planning View dialog the sheet "SapIbpChartFeeder" appears, your template may be corrupted. since the "SapIbpChartFeeder" It's a hidden, helper worksheet, used by the sample IBP VBA template package to store values for charts. This sheet should be a normal Excel worksheet, but currently this sheet acts as a planning view. This is not supported by the IBP Add-in.

What could cause this issue?
Most probably the user who recently updated the template has an activated setting called "Activate Member Recognition" in the EPM Sheet Option (IBP tab in Excel, Template Admin group, Advanced, EPM Sheet Option, General tab). This setting could cause that the helper sheet "SapIbpChartFeeder" became a planning view.
The "Activate Member Recognition" setting is not supported by the IBP Add-in, because it can cause similar side effects like your broken template.

Please, recreate the template from scratch on that case. It is recommended that template admins always create a backup copy from a template before updating it. By this, if you have any issue with the updated template, you can rollback to the backup copy. Furthermore, minimize the users who have Template Administrator privilege in the IBP system to avoid unintentional template modifications.

What are the possible solutions to avoid similar issues in the future?
a) Deactivate the "Activate Member Recognition" setting. All users who are using the IBP Add-in have to check the setting "Activate Member Recognition", deactivate it, and click on the button "Save as default" afterwards.
b) Reset the settings by deleting the file %localappdata%\EPMOfficeClient\EPMXLClientPreference.XML which stores many advanced user-related settings. This file will be recreated automatically with the default settings when Excel loads the IBP Add-In. To delete the file, please, close all Excel instances first.

Best,

Ivan

Hi Ashish,

Are the configuration between both PAs the same? Otherwise it is not supported to simply copy and save a template from one PA to another due to the incompatible settings.

You may also confirm if the EPM worksheet type in EPM Sheet Options is defined as EPM Worksheet, and not as Excel worksheet.

Please provide some screenshots showing the issue if further assistance is required after checking above points.

Best,

Ivan
