Migrating data to production

Hello

I would like someone to take me through the steps for migrating open open positions for money markets, securities and Repos to production system, The balances are already in the GL accounts as the client was already on sap before implementing the treasury module.

My understanding is that we capture all open transactions position value date as per current syetem, run TBB1_LC to fix flows, on doing this we need to unflag update types for coupons and then run TPM1 for the valuations (flows are scheduled at this level guess there will be now flows on TPM1) Kindly take me through the whole process

Thanks

Victor

Hi,

Please also look at the thread "legacy data transfer for otc transactions". For securities, you also have the option of doing legacy data transfer based on the position (i.e. no deals are created); look at the transactions TPM63A/TPM63B/TPM63; if you are interested in that option. For my client, we needed to record the deals (contracts); so that option was no good.

Thanks Manish note that we have already loaded open positions securities, in terms of transactions the positions are now the same as in the legacy system, we have not settled the transaction though, my understanding was that next step is to settle and fix flows and unflag coupons, Repos are also loaded already, there is definately a need to have all open positions on sap but the balances are already on the respective GL accounts, do you mind taking me all the steps for securities and Repos thanks in advance, OTC transactions is sorted thanks, also whats the transaction code for running settlement (processing category on all positions at one goal)

Hi,

Is the Processing category under

Securities

Transaction Management

Transaction Types

Define Transaction Types

is "0001"? In that case, you dont have to settle; can post directly. If you didn't change before loading transactions and do it now; I don't know if it would let you post without settling; you can try it. But, otherwise, either you have to manually settle each (TS04) or may be write an LSMW (with TS04) to do so.

Has the position indicator been created for these transactions?; you can either do manually each (TPM55A) or collectively thru TPM61A.

After the above 2 steps, just run TBB1_LC and then run FWSO, TPM1, TPM18 as you normally would for these transactions except with the update types turned off for posting and turn them back on after cut-off date.

I have changed the processing category to 00001 will have to wait for my transport to go through, just to clarify further when i run fwso, tpm1 and tpm18 i must have update types flags for posting turned off is that right, apart from sam 5000 which other update types must i turn off.

Thanks for this great knowledge

Hi,

The update types for TPM1 and TPM18 will depend on the steps in position management and the configuration for the steps (e.g. for amortization, if you have SAC/LAC, Gross/Net etc.). You can check the update types for your PMP under

Transaction Manager

General Settings

Accounting

Key Date Valuation

Assign Update Types for Valuation

and

Derived Business Transactions

Update Types

Assign Update Types for Derived Business Transactions

Or, you can post a full cycle of a bond in the test environment and see what update types are being posted and unflag them for posting for legacy data transfer.

Hello Manish

Thank you for all the helpful steps, one more question when running TPM1 and TPM18 you obviosly need to have a price for MTM valuation, am i suppose to load prices for securities as of the cut off date, otherwise will get an error. For TPM we do valuation with reset during the financial year and end of year valauation at the end of financial year, which valuation category should i use on this process.

Hi,

While doing TPM1 for legacy data, either you can run it separately for all the old year end dates when you have a valuation document in FI. In that case you need to maintain the corresponding rates in the for those dates also or you can do a valuation on the cut off date alone if you do not want to see the old valuations in your reports. Then you need to maintain the rates as of cutoff date only.

If you are going to run the valuation only on cut off date, then you can use the corresponding valuation category. But mind you if you do use the reset valuation, then the average acquisition price of the security wil not change. Hence the gain will be calculated based on the actual acquisition price and there will be no change in the book value.

If you want to change the book value, then you need to use a category without reset.

Hi,

Please check whether there are any flows in scheduled status itself in TPM40/TPM12 for old dates. If there are any flows to be posted or corporate action to be done etc.

Hi Ravi

On TPM40 no flows exist strangely on FWZE there are coupons before cut off date 01/01/2010 which are scheduled, also on the cash management report you can still see scheduled flows, yet when i run FWSO it says no flows available, I have managed to fix the flows using FWZE lengthy process though
