Multiple inspection lot creation @ goods receipt

Former Member

Hi Gurus,

I need to assign 2 inspection plans to a material, to be used in goods receipt inspection, and 2 inspection lots to be created upon the goods receipt.

When I tried it, I got one inspection lot with no inspection plans assigned....and this is very logical.

But I still need to create the 2 inspection lots...it is a critical customer requirement.

How can I resolve this???

Regards,

MaX

I guess I didn't clarify well, here is the example.

I have 2 inspection plans for goods receipt for the same material, one is for the chemical analysis, and the other is for the microbiological analysis.

I need when I receive the goods, 2 inspection lots are created AUTOMATICALLY for the material, one lot for the chemical test and the other for the microbiological.

Hope that I clarified it.

Hi Max,

If you create 2 operation in inspection plan & in 1st opration keep chemical anlysis related MIC where as in 2nd operatio keep microbiological analysis.

Or can you tell me you want create 2 lots what is your requirement during posting in UD you want to post it full qty at atime.

or seperatly .

Other wise as earlier I said you do GRN seperatly with split qty to create 2 lots but you want to post full qty at a single time then I think creating 2 operation in same inspection plan is better option.

This isn't an uncommon requirement when micro tests are involved as they are often done by different groups, and even outside labs. Many places don't want to wait to use the material and are willing to take the risk of using it prior to the results being completed.

The two operations that Sanil proposed is the way I would set this up. But in addition, I would set up the micro tests as long term inspections. That way, you can go ahead and make the UD and do the stock postings based on the initial testing. Then when the micro results come back you can record the micro results against the longterm characteristics on the second operation.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your support, I know that what I want is nearly impossible due to the issue of the stock posting, I'm trying now some work a rounds and I'll update you, if I failed I guess I'll go with the solution of the long term characteristics

Dear MAX,

I think that in this case the best solution is have 1 inspection plan with 2 operation.

If the laboratory that make chemical & microbiologic test are different, you can assign different work centre to the operation.

If you want, i.e., use the stock after chemical control because microbiologic take more time, you can use short term characteristic for chemical operation and long term characteristic for microbiologic operation, in order that you can take usage decision and insert microbiologic result in a second time.

If you are managing sample, you can use partial sample differently for any operation.

Let me know.

Hi,

You can craete 2 lots at the time GRN .

In material master MM02 Change material ---Qm view in inspection type set up ( choose inspection type set up that you are using if GRN from production then 04 or raw material 01 )

In inspection set up in ctrl insp lot -you have 5 option ( normally by default system takes 1st option each material document ) but for your requirement you select Each material, batch, storage location or each order item ,batch ,storage location Or also can try 2nd option.

Then whenever you do GRN different lot will get genarated.

Then you can choose your require plan for result record.

In above case foe each order you have to do GRN of same order seperatly.

Just check for any further clarification revert me back.

Hi sorry I understood it wrongly.

Please Ignore above reply.

You can do simply GRN for same order in split qty seperatly. say 50.0 KG each time then you will get 2 lots for same.

Dear Max

I am not clear about your requirement. I understood that you want to create the two inspection lots for single material. One is after creation GR & another when do you want to create?

Please specify more details of the requirement.
