X-Plant Material Status in MM - difference between ZB and Z5

Hello, All,

I'm working on our process to flag obselete master materials (R/3 4.6c), and haven't found a full description of the difference between X-plant status ZB and Z5. It appears that both will allow sales and warehouse management, but not procurement functionality - is there any functional difference in the two settings? Have searched the forums and Wiki with no luck yet.

nobody can tell you here what the difference is, as material statuses is customizing that you do yourself :

check in OMS4

IMG Path: Logistics General -> Material Master -> Settings for Key Fields -> Define Material Statuses.

A material status does not restrict sales activities, for this you have to define sales statuses and assign to material master in sales views.

The sales status can be defined in IMG > Logistics general > material master > setting for central fields > sales relevant data > define sales status.
