Heterogeneous server migration

Hi,

We would like to do a heterogeneous migration for ECC6.0 system.

From AIX to Windows.

DB is oracle.

Kindly may I know can I change the Windows server ip or hostname after the heterogeneous migration?

This is to re-used the old ip and hostname after the old server shutdown and decoomission.

In my opinion, it is not reccomend to change.

Because the new server has join the Domain Controller during setup. Any other factor to consider?

Hi Choon,

To the best of my knowledge changing IP and hostname of a server at any stage doesn't affect the normal operation of SAP by anyway. So you can very well change the windows server IP and hostname after you have performed heterogeneous migration.
