Dear All,
We are using our PIDEV server and configured SLD with PIDEV server. We have PIDEV which is connected with R/3 DEV server and PIPRD and its SLD configured and connect with R/3 PRD server. Now we installed solution manager 4.0 and want to configure its SLD and try to connect with R/3 DEV server with solution manager SLD it is possible ? because R/3 DEV server already part of PIDEV server SLD and in R/3 DEV server RFC SAPSLDAPI and LCRSAPRFC already created ( when configure PIDEV server SLD ). I tried to configure solution manager SLD when I run SLDCHECK Tcode following error displayed
Calling function Lcr_LIST_BUSINESS_systems
Summary connection to SLD does not work
RFC Destination LCESAPRFC not exists
And like SLD post installation Guide available for PI but I can find any SLD post installation guide for solution manager
And how and what steps I followed to configure complete solution manager like central monitoring , service desk ,transport management etc
Please guide me
Regards
rayyan
Hi
Solution Manager uses SLD to build a system list in SMSY - which in turn is then used for all the scenarios you listed - it however is too broad a requirement to provide you complete information on setting up all actual Solution Manager scenarios - we can only start you off with the SLD information in this thread
All systems can still be maintained manually or via TMS/RFC in SMSY for all scenarios i.e without SLD - however SLD is nice to have as it will automatically register an initial system list for you in SMSY and then update SP levels in future etc thus removing manual or R3 to R3 RFC maintainence - even still there is a certain amount of time required in order to setup SLD for Solution Manager use
The SAPSLDAPI connection is that client connection between the SLD and its ABAP client - these are unique connections
between Solution Manager ABAP and Solution Manager JAVA system (or SLD) and in the PI landscape between
the PI ABAP and PI JAVA (or SLD) - there should be no need to alter these connections especially in PI where this connection may be currently required for operational use. All you are looking to do is setup the a similiar API connection between Solution Manager ABAP and Solution Manager JAVA (containing the SLD)
What might be causing concern is the need to have data supplier connections or data supplier information of R/3 DEV server in the Solution Manager SLD and it looks to me that this R3 DEV server is already registered in the local PI SLD
I would suggest then
1) All data suppliers that are not connected to a local SLD - these can be registered directly with Solution Manager SLD
2) For data suppliers that are already connected to a local SLD (not SolutIon Manager SLD) - the data ideally would need to be
synchronized between SLDs using the options listed in SLD Planning Guide - at
In the past it used to be possible to have SLDs using the same bridge all defined the same in each data suppliers RZ70
- I am not sure if this option is still available or will forward JAVA based data which uses HTTP - which is why I recommend the synchronization options above
I hope I have understood you issue and hope this helps
Best wishes
Stuart

now can you please guide me what to do to add my PIDEV and PIPRD in solman SLD and require step by step configuration of service DESK and others solution manager solutions configuration

Hi,
This is not possible because you can connect your system to one SLD only. How ever you can create SLD Bridge between your PI (DEV) and PI(PRD) to your solution manager system and then in turns do the Data transfer. As a result your Soltuion manager will contain the data.
But I will suggest you to make local SLD for your PI system and then create a SLD bridge from your PI system to your solution manager and configure your other system in solman SLD.
Thanks
Sunny
