How can i do the configuration of decimal precision of the planning view data in the addin excel?
Best Regards
Hello Simeon,
you can control how numbers are shown via the EPM formatting sheets in Excel. That also includes the number of digits or any other format. That can be done e.g. by key figure.
Take a look at our Example template for details: https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/1790530
Best regards.

Hi Anna,
the KF formatting being respected by Excel Add-in can be either done via EPM formatting or directly via "key figure display properties". The statement from ivan.andreis only seems to be partially true. However I face the issue that Excel respects the key figure setting whereas Web UI doesn't. In my case I don't allow to display decimals. Excel shows the figures correctly (even w/o any EPM format applied) but the Web UI always shows 2 decimals in the following format [number].00
Is there any way to adjust this behaviour and suppress the decimals display?
regards, Stefan
Hi Stefan,
if there is no EPM formatting sheet used for the planning view, then the Excel UI shows the numbers the way it gets them from the database. Usually all numbers are stored with 6 digits in HANA, however, during data load, disaggregation/aggregation and depending on the rules, it could be that full numbers are displayed on the UI.
Without formatting rules assigned, the behavior is the same - in that case, the UI gets no decimals from the backend.
The Excel UI does not respect the decimal rules from the key figure definition. However, as Ivan stated, dis-aggregation and other operators do, hence, the value on DB level could be equal to the "key figure display properties".
As for the WebUI, do you refer to the Analytics / Dashboards (they should respect the "key figure display properties" afaik) or do you refer to the Web-based Planning app?
Best regards,
Anna
Hi Anna,
you are right in regards to Excel formatting. It seems that also Ivan is right. I simply did not face the topic due to the fact that the key figure values have had no decimals.
I was referring to the Web-based planning where all key figures show up w/ .00 irrespective their setting at key figure level. Any way to supress those decimals?
Best regards, Stefan

Hi Abhijeet,
Actually this setting is valid in Excel for dis-aggregation and some operators, but it's not valid for overall KF formatting in the Excel UI.
On that matter, this setting is only respected on the Analytics apps. For Excel UI, as indicated on other answers, we must go by EPM formatting.
Best, Ivan
unhide the EPM formatting sheet, add the key figure and provide the format, and set to "number format"
check the OSS note 1790530, there are some tipps in the link provided
and see the recording https://sapnaevent.adobeconnect.com/_a966384291/pi9ugqtaplqo/?launcher=false&fcsContent=true&pbMode=... for tipps and tricks
