CRM_INTLAY_PUT_DATA FM replcement?

Hi,

I am new to CRM web UI deveopment. Can somebody give me the replcement FM for the 'CRM_INTLAY_PUT_DATA' FM.

My customer is saying the FM 'CRM_INTLAY_PUT_DATA' is obsolete, so i am trying to find the alternate one to use.
