Building own Compenents for Xcelsius

Hi All

I am fairly new to Xcelsius and I wanted to understand what is required to build our own Compenents for Xcelsius? Are they built using Flex or ? Is it hard to learn? Any helps to move me in the right direction would be apreciated.
