Support Package SAPKB71101 hangs while applying

Hi,

I am applying basis support package SAPKB71101, it is getting hanged in Main Import. I was trying to import from last 4 days. But still it is hanged in the Main Import only. When i try to check the log in Slog, i am getting the warning as /usr/sap/trans/tmp/SAPKKB711001.PI7 is already in use (1890), I'm waiting 1 sec (20100325184152). My name: Pid 26022.

I am getting this warning continously. Please suggest me the solution.

Thanks all for help.

I have stopped the Main Import and killed all the processes of tp and trans and deleted the file in tmp and restarted the instance and then started the import of support package. It was imported successfully.

Hi,

it will help you..please follow this process. check any tp processes are running..kill those tp process first (confrim and kill)

then go to /usr/sap/trans/tmp/ and check for .LOB file, if the .LOB file is there, delete that file and move all files from "tmp" to "tmp_old" (create). the you will try to import again.

Hello Nani,

Just a little correction, import is hanging due to SAPKKB71101.PI7 file. So removing .LOB files will not help.

if the import was hanging due to any .LOB files then you'll get the warnings for the .LOB file.

1.kill the running tp's

2. rename the .lob file in usr/sap/trans/tmp

3.check if there are entries in TRBAT,TRJOB.Delete the entries and try again....

4.Check whether the job rddimpdp is running.

Hi,

Just stop your main import and then rename file SAPKKB71101.PI7 in /usr/sap/trans/tmp/. Then check there should be no tp process running. after that again start the import and then it should work.

Hi,

Could you check if a (tp or R3trans) still exists for the same PID.

If this process does, exist, you can

1. wait for a time when no normal transports (STMS, tp, ...) run.

2. wait for a time when nothing is done in SPAM or SAINT.

3. also no client exports or imports should be done, so no tp or R3trans process should run on the System.

4. If then still tp or R3trans processes run, kill the R3trans processes at Operating system level.

5. wait a bit and then also the tp processes should end with an error.

6. check again tht no tp and no R3trans process exists on the server.

7. Go to /usr/sap/trans/tmp and check whether there is file names SAPKKB71101.PI7.

rename the file SAPKKB71101.PI7 to SAPKKB71101.PI7.old

The system will create a file again in DIR_TRANS/tmp when new TP process is trigger later.
