Dear All,
We have SCM 5.0 SR3 and LiveCache 7.6 installation. As of now we are facing performance issues. Could you please guide me as to what I should be checking, transaction codes and some guidelines.
Appreciate if you can guild me to get this problem narrowed down.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Kushan
Hi Kushan,
For performance measurements for livecache, the following are the
other tools that can be used
1) Carry out livecache consistency check (om17) and check
any major errors found
2) Check the quantum of livecache application logs through
transaction /sapapo/om11 & delete unwanted logs using om12
3) You can monitor both the process and users through
/sapapo/opt12 and opt03 transactions
4) Check the inbound and outbound queues through
/sapapo/sq
5) Use transaction /SAPAPO/PERFMON to control the various
performance related factors in the supply chain
6) Also inform your functional team to reorganise & delete unwanted
transactional data, alerts, etc., which will improve performance

Hi,
What kind of performance issues you are facing. Can you please elaborate. So I can try to provide you some reports and t-codes to check and resolve the issues.

Hi KRN,
Thanks a lot for the reply. This is an overall performance issue. This is a DP instance. Most of the users complain about slowness in most of the areas and APO related transactions.
Could you please guide me as to how should I go about checking these problems in general ?
Thanks and Regards
Kushan
Hello Kushan,
Overall performance improvement is a very vague term. Let us try and help you with that. I understand that you are referring to planning book related performance issues.
1) Use Aggregation at most commonly used levels. This reduces the temp SQL sizes and improves performance.
2) Ensure only necessary KF are present in a Planning Book, and try to distribute KF between various planning areas as far as the business can allow. This will avoid reading unwanted KF and improve performance.
3) Create indexes and stats on your MPOS. This can be found in DP & SNP Planning area administration txn /sapapo/msdp_admin. Right click on the MPOS and click Manage Performance.
Hope all this helps.
Thanks
Mani
Hi Mani,
Thanks a lot for the reply.
I will take your advices.
Could you please help me to identify the possible bottle necks of the system from the Basis point of view. How could I check the bottle necks other than the values I can see in LC10 ? Is there a way that I can get the rule of thumb values for the mandatory parameters ?
Thanks and Regards
Kushan
Kushan,
This is the Solution Operation guide for SCM 5.0. A good starting point for a number of maintenance issues, including performance problems.
