Inspection Type 05 521 Mov

Hi,

While doing MB1C mov 521 i have activated 05 in Material Master,when i execute this transaction a lot is created in background which actually goes into "Unrestricted Use" (till here its fine) but the movement i try to Do transfer posting,its does not allow me cas RR and UD is not taken for lot generated in background.

Now Problem------ *System should allow me to do transfer posting inspite of me not doing the RR And UD*,which i will record later...Regards

In the material master setup for the 05 inspection type, click off the "post to QI stock" indicator. The material will not be in QI stock then and you will be free to move it.

If however you, go to reject some or all of the material, depending on sunsequent moves, the material may not be available in unnrestricited inventory in the expect storage location to post.

I have removedfrom day one the tick for "Post to ins Stock" cas i want to create a lot but Gr should directly be placed in "Unretricted Use".I can do Transfer posting only after doing Result recording And UD whereas i want to do transfer posting irrespective of RR and UD.

Hi Amit,

The statements are seem to be somehow contradictory. If you have removed the tick Post to inspection stock then stock must be getting posted to unrestricted use directly. There would be no stock in quality inspection. Then why you need to do stock posting again?

Regarding your question that system is not allowing you to proceed for UD unless you record results, I think you might be using user profiles /status for inspection type 05. Is it possible for you to mention the exact error message number along with message description you are getting?

I want the stock to go directly to Unrestricted use--its going

Now at same time Lot is getting in background cas i have activated "05"--its happening.

Prob----If RR and UD is not done transfer posting MB1B mov 309 is not allowing now i want the system to do transfer posting MB1B mov 309 before the RR and UD are done.I will jot down the RR and UD later in the day.

Hello Amit,

Can you please mention the exact wording and message number that you are getting?

I don't feel that lot and transfer posting have any link under the situation you quoted. Hence it would be difficult to predict unless error message wording is known.

I have created a Z program,i am calling the Document created during MB1C mov 521 and against that particular Document number i am doing transfer Posting MB1B MOV 309 WHICH IS NOT HAPPENING, reason being UD not taken for lot created in background " 05"inspection type.

Have you tried to do any other movements with this material? I would try moving it to another storage location or to blocked stock without changing the material number and see if this works. It should.

I think SAP is smart enough to not let you make this move to another material (309) until you have cleared the first material. That's why you are getting the error the that the delivery isn't complete. What would happen if you rejected the material in the inspection lot? When you tried to post the material, it wouldn't find any material to move to block stock. I'm actually surprised SAP has this check in it cause you should be able to use this material at-risk. I.e you should be able to consume it in production order and use it.

Out of curiousity can you elaborate on why you have to immediately can the material number on the product? Why aren't they just using the material number they order it under?

Actually i have these 3 material(A,Band C) bought from purchase,Subcontracting,Inhouse production,Now i am consuming it through 1 material code (D),This material code (D) is in my BOM.I do material transfer the movement they are are done GR.So i want Inspection lot for RR but consumption will be done at all cost,no chance of rejection at any point.

In that case, and in order to get around the problem you are running into I might consider trying the following.

When the material comes in, use a custom movement type, maybe a copy of 411 to move the material to a virtual storage location and create an 08 insp lot with the material going to unrestricited. Now see if you can do the 309 to your desired material. The problem is that you won't have the 01 tracibility to the original vendor except via material movements and maybe the batch where used list if your using that.

I think maybe using an 08 lot instead of 01 might let you move forward.
