SSO problem with ESS

Former Member

Hi,

We have implemented ESS portal as an intranet application with SSO feature. Most of the employees are able to access the ESS portal via SSO. However there are a few employess that are having problem with SSO. They are always prompted to key in their login id and password whenever they try to access the ESS portal. Anyone encounter similar problem and how do you overcome it?

Thanks & regards,

TE

Hello TE,

are we talking about a Windows-based Authentication SSO or just the SSO between your Portal and Backend Server?

If it is first one, please make sure that these users have enabled the windows-based authentification flag in their browsers.

Hi Markus,

Thanks for the response.

We have already enabled the window-based authentication flag under intranet setting and Advance tab in internet options but it still doesn't resolve the SSO problem.

Hi.

Check for those employees whether Everyone role is assigned?

and see whether the user password got expired in the backend ECC system?

If the password is expired it will be asking the password.

Just reset the Backend ECC system password and when prompted key in the new password and close the browser and try again it should solve the issue.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the respose. The problem has been resolved by clearing SSL state under Content tab in internet option and making sure that the time on the end user pc is in sync with the server.

Hi

Usually this might be because of Browser Cache.

Clear the Browser Cache - Delete History and Delete Cookies.

and check the same for the users. When we encountered the issue did the same and since portal is a browser based application you usually come across this issues.

Hope this helps.
