Hello Anaid,

Universe Level:    Context is nothing but a path to solve join problems.

                              Ex: sales context, purchases context.

Report Level: here terminology will change. To add dimension/measure objects into calculation contexts to show relevant information into tab/chart.

Ex: input context (foreach(), in()), output context( Forall()).

Hi,

Context is a set of joins in the universe which provides a valid join path between tables to WebI for generating SQL.

This is helpful to resolve loops, chasm traps and fan traps in universe.

What exactly you are trying to find out?

Here is reply on the base of my understanding.

You use contexts to resolve join path problems such as loops and chasm traps.

Any context that you create are displayed in the Contexts pane of the Structure pane when List Mode is active.

When you create a basic universe with Quick Designer, you may find it necessary to edit joins, and to resolve all loops using aliases or contexts.
